How It Began

It all began with a dog named Buc...

When Robert was a coach with no clients, Buc took a chance and hired him as a coach. He was a faithful client, you could even say a coach's best friend, running and swimming together, but not cycling. They searched for a bike that could fit Buc, but none were small enough to allow his hind legs to reach the pedals. Besides, steering with paws is really hard, and don't even ask about shifting gears. Nevertheless, Buc quickly became obsessed with training and he began to spread the word to his pack of friends. Soon, people were coming to Robert to get in shape for triathlons and marathons, and Terrier Tri was born!

What is a Terrier?

TER'RI'ER (noun)
The Terriertri athlete is an increasingly visible creature in the New York Metro area. Much like a Jack Russell, the Terriertri is a happy, bold, energetic animal. Terriertri's are extremely loyal, intelligent and assertive. They are well-known for their athletic prowess, as well as their ability to guzzle large amounts of beer, wine and other swill. Food is one of their best friends, as is sleep, hydration and nutrition in funny little packets. They tend to wake up early to train and they love to race hard. Terriertri's rarely complain, like to snuggle, and occasionally even sunbathe in the nude. They have been known to run a little crazy off the bike, but with diligent conditioning, this problem should not persist in future generations of the breed. Their greatest attribute is their working ability to laugh and love, closely followed by their excellent qualities as a companion on long rides, long runs and the occasional drinking binge after an “A” race. You may find Terriertri’s exiting the water 1st, chasing down other cyclist, or barking at other Terrier’s on the run. They are equally adept at killing a workout in Central Park or charging the climb up Bear Mountain. Their funny antics will continually amuse you, their intelligence seems to know no bounds and their assertive character and boundless energy can at times be overwhelming.
