Robert Pennino

Triathlon, Cycling, Swimming

Robert began his triathlon career over 12 years ago building on an already impressive athletic base. He completed his first Full IM in 2001 which followed with 6 more. He has been an USAT age group All American, competed at Clearwater 70.3 World Championships and has may age group wins and podium finishes. As a USA Triathlon Certified Coach, he has continued to compete while successfully encouraging other eager athletes to follow in his footsteps. His philosophy is that he wants his athletes to get in shape while having fun. He wants them to enjoy the healthy lifestyle, but also to reap the additional benefits of specific training with a goal. He has developed a wealth of knowledge with regard to endurance sports and the many intricacies and intertwining elements which create the ultimate athlete.

Robert’s coaching style adapts to the needs of each individual athlete not only with regard to ability, but more importantly with regard to their personality. He understands that people are motivated in different ways and that in order to succeed in his role as a coach – he must tap into different elements of their personalities to reach their potential. Robert expresses a relentless personal interest in the process that is apparent in his enthusiasm to work with athletes of all levels. ROBERT@TERRIERTRI.COM

Joshua Levin-Soler

Triathlon, Duathlon, Cycling, Running

Josh hails from California, but considers himself a New Yorker now, having lived here for the past 7 years and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social-Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. He is a perennial top-ten finisher in local New York area triathlons and duathlons. Josh comes from a running and cycling background, and while he has had success at many distances ranging from 1500 meters to the half-marathon, he is most proud of his 10-mile personal record of 51:31. He hopes to eclipse that PR sometime soon.

He is a tireless advocate of personal growth and awareness, and he believes dreams do come true if you work hard and apply yourself. He is committed to helping his clients grow as athletes and human beings. Nothing gives him more pleasure than seeing someone break through their limits. JOSHUA@TERRIERTRI.COM

Andreas Neumeier

Cycling

Andreas, a certified USA Cycling Level 2 Coach, has 12 years of cycling experience from both road and mountain biking. After crossing the Alps on trails and competing in road and off road cycling races, Andreas began triathlon training in 2004 and has since been racing Olympic and Half-IM triathlons. ’’Cycling is much more than an athletic activity - it is an ongoing and constantly refreshing exchange of challenges and rewards much beyond the physical experience and part of a healthy lifestyle’’ according to Andreas. Andreas is a certified Spinning Instructor and teaches Terrier Tri Indoor Cycling classes at Equinox. ANDREAS@TERRIERTRI.COM

Megan Jones

Swimming

At age four, Meg hopped into the pool sans water wings at a preschool pool party. Mama Jones jumped in fully clothed to fish her out. When Papa Jones asked about the incident later that night, Meg shook her head and scolded, “If Mom wanted to swim she should have worn a swimsuit”. Shortly after, Papa Jones enrolled Meg in swim lessons as a “guppy” at the local YMCA. And so began Meg’s love affair with the water.

Meg swam for Bucknell University (NCAA Div. I). She was a four-year varsity letter winner, received the Lewisburg Subway Award for athletic achievement on numerous occasions, and was selected for the All Patriot League First Team, as well as the Patriot League Honor Roll. While in school, she was also the recipient of a Volunteer Service Award for her work as a swim coach for Special Olympics athletes. In the summer of 2005, after a four-year hiatus from swimming, Meg joined the New York Athletic Club swim team. In her first event representing the NYAC, Meg was part of a three-woman team, which took the 5K Open Water National Championship title in 2005 and placed second in 2006. Meg has coached adult triathletes, adult beginners, infants, and children of all ages. She looks forward to sharing her love of swimming and enthusiasm for the sport with Terrier Tri. Christine Neumeier

Cycling

It all started with a torn ACL – bound to crutches for a while, the only sport Christine was able to do was pedaling on a stationary bike which turned out to be a great “recovery” sport for her. Needless to say, the next season Christine got herself a road bike, joined a cycling club and developed a real passion for cycling.

Christine brings a wealth of experience from her 10 years of cycling – both on and off the road. She has competed in numerous cycling and triathlon races and as a certified USA Cycling Coach and Spinning Instructor wants to share her knowledge on skills and strength with other athletes.

Although Christine believes in consistency and hard work which bring athletes closer to their goals, it is really the ability to have fun what matters most. Crossing the finish line with a smile is priceless! CHRISTINE@TERRIERTRI.COM

David Kane

Triathlon

Dave did his first triathlon in 1989 in the prevailing race attire of the day-a speedo and nothing else. His outfit offended so many people that he may be the only triathlete in history to be pelted with acorns and small stones by spectators. His triathlon skills and his racing wardrobe have both improved over the two decades since that fashion faux pas. In twenty years of racing, Dave has scrupulously avoided triathlons that would cause him to miss more than one meal. With more than 100 Olympic distance starts under his belt, he has been a six-time member of the U.S. team at the Short Course Amateur World Championships. In 2006 Dave finished 8th in the 35-39 AG at Short Course Worlds in Lausanne, Switzerland, and ended the '06 season ranked 10th among U.S. amateur men in the 35-39 AG. DAVID@TERRIERTRI.COM

Julia Mavrodin

Swimming

Julia Mavrodin began her swimming career more than 15 years ago when her mother bribed her with modeling lessons in return for joining the local swim team. While mother's intentions were to get Julia out of her hair and deflate her dreams of becoming America's Next Top Model, Julia actually got stuck with the swimming thing and ended up a true "swimming tool". Swimming followed Julia through her State Champion High School team to a 4 year stint on Emory University's Women's swim team. While at Emory, Julia was a four time NCAA qualifier and two time Academic All American IM'er and Breastroker. Julia's college career concluded when she contributed to the team winning the NCAA National Team title in 2005 for the first time ever. Julia ran the Emory University swim lesson program for three years, which served the local Atlanta community. Julia has taught all levels of swimmers from infants to grown adults.

Julia competed in her first triathlon in 2006 at the Day at the Beach Tri in Hermosa Beach, CA because it was a free entry and ended up 3rd in her group. She's been hooked ever since. Last year, Julia completed her first half IM and then first full IM at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, where she finished 7th in her age group. Julia will compete in her 2nd IM World Championships in October. Still a relative newcomer to the sport, what Julia lacks in common sense about the sport, she makes up for in positive attitude and determination. Julia is a true lover of both swimming and triathlon and is excited about transforming all levels of athletes into true swimming tools. JULIA@TERRIERTRI.COM

Sarah Littlefield

Swimming

Sarah learned to swim before she could walk, and got serious about the sport at 12, after her ballet teacher told her 'Ballerina's don't have muscles like that." Sarah swam at Emory University, earning All-American honors her sophomore year, as well as All-Conference and Academic All-Conference honors. Sarah placed 2nd in the 200 breaststroke at the 2002 Conference Championships- behind Julia.

Following a short break from the pool to focus on graduate school, Sarah returned to the sport after moving to New York City, and joined Terrier Tri shortly after. Sarah loves to share her passion for the sport with others and has coached in various capacities through-out her swimming career.

Sarah works in clinical HIV-prevention research at a global non-profit based in New York City and is always looking for travel partners to participate in various athletic events in the far reaches of the globe. SARAH@TERRIERTRI.COM
